Marucci Bats make their big league debut with Eduardo Perez of the St. Louis Cardinals. All-Star shortstop Barry Larkin was the first big leaguer to score a hit using a Marucci bat. Other players instantly took notice and started swinging Marucci.

Early success leads to rapid growth. Without ever endorsing a player, Marucci milestones in 2009 include:

• Over 300 players swing Marucci wood bats
• 19 of 30 All-Stars swing Marucci
• 13 members of the starting lineup in the World Series
